After reading the article, I realized that I've been wearing Kelme cleats with blades for several years and have been oblivious to the controversy. I haven't noticed any difference, but the article certainly raises some questions.

Sounds like JUNK science to me. The majority of players wear blades.

I switched TO blades precisely because studs didn't give me enough traction when I tried to pivot or stop. I'd end up on my butt or sliding more than often in studs.

I'd rather see a cross-comparison of percent injuries and types in blades versus studs though. Correlation does not prove causation and this could just be faux science.

I wear Kelme as well exactly for "gription", which I guess if you are planted firmly something is gonna give.

But planted is planted studs or blades. The best education I ever got in sport and injury avoidance was having to take gymnastics and tumbling as a kid.
