After reading the article, I realized that I've been wearing Kelme cleats with blades for several years and have been oblivious to the controversy. I haven't noticed any difference, but the article certainly raises some questions.
I switched TO blades precisely because studs didn't give me enough traction when I tried to pivot or stop. I'd end up on my butt or sliding more than often in studs.
I'd rather see a cross-comparison of percent injuries and types in blades versus studs though. Correlation does not prove causation and this could just be faux science.
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; [it] is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
I wear Kelme as well exactly for "gription", which I guess if you are planted firmly something is gonna give.
But planted is planted studs or blades. The best education I ever got in sport and injury avoidance was having to take gymnastics and tumbling as a kid.
