I doubt it will ever happen, but wouldn't this help the quality of coaching in some schools that are fighting just to find one knowledgeable coach? Of course, this also brings up the usage of the football field for those without a soccer specific stadium. Nice thought, anyway.

It would help in that regard...much like high school tennis seasons with girls in the fall and boys in the spring. It would also create a conflict with fall club season, though...I think a lot of highly-ranked schools would hate to have players needing to choose between playing high school or club ball.

Wouldn't the logical choice be to do it the other way around? Move boys to the fall?

SCYSA would love for High School soccer to move to the fall. That way they could move the club season to the spring and have the State Cup just before regionals instead of being the only state in the Region 3 (along with girls in NC) that has state cup six months before regionals.

Sorry, wasn't thinking...we'll just move football to the spring so that we can move high school soccer to the fall so that we can move club soccer which doesn't share high school fields to the spring concurrent with football so that we can have region play right after state cup so that everyone is on the same page and happy and isn't sharing players and gets a supplement and has equal footing in region play and doesn't have to share players or fields or make choices or hire more coaches...
That about cover it? Simple.

Seems fairly straightforward! Now, since you have the "in" with the football folks, I'll let you handle switching football to the spring semester...as soon as you get that taken care of, let me know and I'll handle the rest!
