It was a very good match, closer than the score would indicate. CASA is a young team with only about half being true U17's. And you are right, they are much better than a 7 seed... they were only a couple of own goals away from being the 5 seed.

Sorry to see the season end.

Where are the majority of CASA's players from? Have any of the players been trained at CESA before? How many play HS soccer?

All play HS soccer, 7 different schools represented: Daniel (4), Seneca(1), Walhalla(2), Easley(1), Westside(2), Hanna(6), Wren(1).

A couple have played at CESA before, but they saw the light and came to CASA.

I hate to do this, due to the fact soccer is a team sport, can you name a couple impact players on the team?

Not trying to dodge the question, but one of the best things about these girls is how well they play together as a team and it would be a disservice to them to try and single out any of the girls as "impact players".

So your saying the team has a bunch of well coached HS players that over-achieved. Just a thought

Perhaps drop the "over" and arrive at something more accurate? Congrats to the team for what sounds like a great run.

The AU coach on the parent's sideline is the men's coach (2008 Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year). His daughter was on the field.

Boys U-17 - Columbia United FC v. CESA Challenge

3-0 CESA played a smart game, playing 8-9 behind the ball. They frustrated CUFC in the first half, going to the break at 0-0. It took CUFC a while to break them down, but they got their goal early in the second half and they cruised from there. CESA had no shots on goal during the game.
