Hard Headed:
It's the money in the SEC, The SEC has more money than any other conference to attract the top coaches and the SEC dosn't have to worry about the Women's program competing with the men's program for $$$.

Kentucky is one of two SEC schools (along with South Carolina) that have men's soccer programs.

Your correct, but they play in Conference-USA, not the SEC.

So because the men play in CUSA the women don't have to compete with the men for $$$?

By NCAA rules, women's soccer programs are allowed up to 14 scholarships while the men are limited to 9.9 regardless of which conference they are in. Do you think Kentucky allots less than the allowed 9.9 scholarships to the men's program because they play in the CUSA? And what money would the women's program at Kentucky get that an ACC program would not get?

That's a good question, I bet Bramble at Alabama has the answer.

He certainly would know the difference between the ACC and SEC, but there is no men's program at Alabama like there is at Kentucky.
