I know Lexington got whacked fairly hard at graduation in June.........but 5th!

Lexington NOT in the state play-offs in 2009?

I'll believe that when I see it. Lexington will be battle-tested and ready come May. Who would the 4th seed in this region play in the first-round of the state play-offs?

Remember, Region 5 gets 5 playoff spots. They could finish 5th and still be in the playoffs.

The 4th seed from region 5 plays the 1st seed from region 8 (Summerville?).

The brackets are on page 58 of the AAAA Handbook.

Region 5 4A will apparantly get 5 teams in the playoffs in 09, but I agree, 5th is too far for Lexington to plummet.

1.) Aiken 12-4 (Ron is crafty and he is due, 'nuff said)
2.) North Augusta 11-5
3.) Lexington 11-5
4.) Dutch Fork 11-5
5.) Irmo 10-6
6.) White Knoll 4-12
7.) RNE 2-14
8.) OW 0-16

I really do believe that tie breakers will determine seeding in this region for 2-3 of the top 5 spots, much like it came into play in Region IV-AAAA last year.

I'm amazed at your pick for Dutch Fork to finish 4th. With all their returning experienced R3PL players, they are the team to beat in Region 5 as far as I'm concerned. The only way they will finish 4th is through some major disaster.

Also, what are the records you list? Overall regular season? These teams will play 14 region games in the regular season.

I looked at it, but didn't scrutinize it.

Which region in the lower-state will not get a 4th place team into the play-offs? If Region 5 gets five, then somebody is only getting three, correct?
