Date: May 14-17 and 21-24, 2009

The South Carolina Youth Soccer Association is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a USSF "C" License coaching course on May 14-17 and 21-24, 2009 at Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina.

The course tuition is $550.00, which includes an annual membership to the new U.S. Soccer Coaches Membership Program. Details of this program will be sent to all course participants. This is a "commuter" cost, which means that meals, transportation to course site, and overnight accommodations are not included.

Certification requires attendance on Thursday evening, May 14 and all day from Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17, and Thursday afternoon, May 21 and all day Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24, 2009.

Wish I could go.

I'll be at the HS State Championships the 22nd and 23rd. Already on my calendar.

Why would they schedule such a thing on this day? Doesn't this present a conflict? Do these college coaches and licensing staff across the state even realize the State Championships are that weekend?

Furthermore,

Do they care? They must use their other weekends to recruit in Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria, or the Ivory Coast!

They have always scheduled it at this time each year which is the first year the state high school playoffs have been this late in May. But it's also always been right in the middle of club tryouts which can't begin until May 18th for U13-U15.
