Big games that matter. From ranked to unranked programs, these games will have an impact on playoff scenarios, bragging rights, etc.

Monday - 3/23

Hillcrest vs Byrnes
How did Hillcrest dropped from the rankings after trouncing a scrappy Boiling Springs side??? Doesn't matter. A win over Byrnes will be huge. Byrnes is looking to right the ship as both programs enter a tough road to earn a AAAA playoff spot in the Region of Death.

Tuesday - 3/24

#4 Barnwell vs #9 Swansea
Battle of the little guys. Two feel good stories get a chance to make the other guy not feel so well. AA vs AAA, so no playoff implications in this one.

#7 Blue Ridge vs #5 Christ Church
ROH used his Jedi Mind tricks to climb numerous spots in the AAA rankings without even taking the field. Christ Church is playing well. Another good match-up with no playoff implications.

#3 Dutch Fork vs White Knoll
The Timberwolves have already dispatched Airport and North Augusta. They have their work cut out for them against a tough Silver Foxes squad. Rankings out the window, this is a HUGE early season region match-up between two strong Midlands teams.

#4 Irmo vs North Augusta
At 0-2 in a strong region, North Augusta needs a win against a quality Irmo side. The Lady Yellow Jackets will prevail regardless of the outcome in this match, but which ones?

#3 South Aiken vs #4 Airport
Another huge match-up, the top ranked teams in AAA lowerstate go at it for an early leg up in region play. Young vs Morris "The Official Bout" #1. They've played before, just not for any marbles.

#6 Eastside vs #2 Riverside
Upperstate AAA heavyweights go at it in a non-region match. Playoff scouting and pride are the most important things here.

Nation Ford vs Clover
AAAA region match with playoff implications. Two message board favs from '08 look to gain a leg up on each other in early season play, and possibly a chance to crack back in to the rankings.

Wednesday - 3/25

#1 Mauldin vs #5 Spartanburg
HUGE region I match-up vs two undefeated AAAA powers. Both teams are playing well and have yet to miss a beat in '09.

#2 Wando vs #1 Waccamaw
Waccamaw had that stunner against Dorman earlier in the year. The Lady Warriors know Mauldin has a doozy on the same night, and will be out to prove they're the toast of the coast. Wednesday night could determine who's #1 in AAAA and AA come Sunday. (for at least a week that is)

Thursday 3/26

#11 Greenville vs Wade Hampton (G)
Two more strong upstate teams battling it out for AAA playoff seeding. With Eastside and Mann in the region too, a win here is huge and both teams know it.

White Knoll vs #11 Aiken
We saw early that both of these teams would be resurgent in '09, but a win in this region match could be a step towards a 1 or 2 seed come playoff time, and an easier path into the 2nd round.

Friday 3/27

#9 TL Hanna vs #10 Wren
Both teams are having strong seasons. With the Region title essentially on the line tonight, playoff implications vs Region IIs 3rd or 4th seed could be huge.

#3 Woodruff vs #2 Riverside
Little guy's trying to slay the giant again. This game has been a thriller before. Again, no playoff implications at stake, only pride and good soccer.

#12 Lexington vs #4 Irmo
* See Aiken vs White Knoll. The same applies here.

Clover-Nation Ford looks to be an interesting match.....

Clover is probably the biggest disappointment of the year. Nation Ford is a jekyl and hyde team.....they looked horribly boring saturday at Manchester.....and actually looked pretty darned good Sunday.

On paper this shouldn't be close....Clover is a much more talented team. But they are severely underachieving and if it continues and NF plays well, the Lady Falcons will have a good shot.

Daddy,

Macy Simpson injury is a huge blow to Nation Ford. With Macy on the field, this match is much closer. Lady Falcons will have to really gut it out without her to beat a very good Clover squad that drew nil-nil with Eastside yesterday.

Yup, agree. I didn't want to talk about the injury. Macy is a tough gutty player who is hard to replace. Hopefully her injury isn't as severe as I've heard it rumored to be.

On the plus side, Katie K's presence yesterday was a big boost.

You can either chalk that error up to my pre-K ability to read a calendar, or the match was originally posted as being played on 3/23 (like the boys) and then changed. I would probably vote for the former...

Blythewood @ Rock Hill

This is a big game for Rock Hill to make a statement in Region 4 after beating Northwestern in there tournament for the championship. It is a big game for Blythewood to show there consistancy, it is there first game being in the top 15 of 4A.
