We'll try to keep everything in this thread, so here go the matches of interest for Week #4.

Monday - 3/30

BHP vs #6 Woodmont
Is Woodmont really #6 in the state? A match against a scrappy BHP side should add to their credibility, or give it a knock.

#8 Eastside vs #1 JL Mann
A win is much needed for the Eastside girls, and Mann is sitting on top of the world, but knows this will be a tough match. Who could've forseen Woodmont ranked higher than Eastside?

#9 TL Hanna vs #5 Wren
Here's the biggun'! Region I finally gets some major respect with two teams ranked in the top 10 since Mauldin and Hillcrest in 2001! It should be a barn burner in Anderson, with the winner taking early control of the Region I race!

Tuesday - 3/31

#1 Bishop England vs #4 Hilton Head
Hilton Head dropped below South Aiken as the #2 seed in the Lower State, but a win over perennial AA power BE could give them a boost in the standings.

#15 Blythewood vs #11 Ridge View
Blythewood needs a win here to stay in the AAAA top 15, but you have to credit coach King for getting his girls in the mix in their first year as a AAAA school. That said, Ridge View is good, really good, and this is a big region match!

#5 Christ Church vs #13 Greenville
Christ Church is off to a strong start and looks to get another win over a ranked AAA opponent when they take on the Lady Red Raiders. Greenville needs a good showing here to stay in the top 15.

#3 Dutch Fork vs Lexington
Lexington unranked??? Wow! A win against the Silver Foxes would be huge, and it's possible, but it will take a valiant effort from the Wildcats to pull off the stunner and get back in the mix for a region title.

#8 Fort Mill vs Nation Ford
Nation Ford has played strong, but is unranked. Fort Mill knows this could be a trap game and will be ready. The Lady Jackets have won the games they were supposed to for it seems like forever.

#7 Irmo vs #14 White Knoll
White Knoll is the worst to first darling of the midlands, and could score a monumental win by toppling the Lady Yellow Jackets tonight. Irmo is very strong and knows a win over the Timberwolves is quality, they won't let this match sneak up on them.

#6 Walhalla vs #14 Daniel
Walhalla came away with a pk win last week, and a big one at that. The rematch could set the tone for these two teams for the rest of the season. Well, at least until playoffs that is...

Wednesday - 4/1

Picture tumblewoods blowing across a parched desert. Little to cover, with few tight match-ups on April Fool's day.

Thursday - 4/2

#7 Swansea vs #12 Brookland Cayce
Swansea can sweep the season series and gain a leg up in region standings with a win here. BC needs to win to have any shot at a region title. Great Midlands match-up!

#6 Woodmont vs #14 Daniel
The region title is on the line. Woodmont won by 2 in the first match, so Daniel will be gunning for goals. Hopefully the embattled Lady Lions will have a full squad this time around and be ready to play.

Friday - 4/3

Rock Hill vs #11 Ridge View
Another chance for Alex Ramsey and Rock Hill to break into the rankings, and another quality opponent standing in their way. Region IV has impressed so far this year, tonight should be no different.

---------------------------

There are countless other quality matches strewn throughout the week, so feel free to add write ups for anything I missed.

Friday - 4/3

Pinewood Prep vs Bishop England
#1 SCISA vs #1 AA - Made even more exciting by the fact that the boys also play that night in a similar matchup of #1 SCISA vs #1 AA. Although the boys play every year - I believe this will be the first matchup for the Girls.

at TL Hanna

#9 TL Hanna 3
#5 Wren 2 PKs

Score was tied 1-1 at halftime. TL Hanna scored from a shot about 25yds out at the 55' mark. Beautiful, high shot from the corner. Wren answered with a similar shot from similar distance at the 79' mark to take the match into overtime. The atmosphere was electric in the final minutes (there was some stoppage time due to injury).

Overtime was even, and TL Hanna made 4pks to Wren's 3 to take a hardfought, Region I win between to top 10 squads.

It was a very fast, physical match. Wren is much improved from their '08 squad, and both teams deserve to stay in top 10 at weeks end!
