Why hasn't Region 2 gone to a three-ref system?

Athletic bailout program is alive and well in Spartanburg County. I've seen the facilities (and the current construction) on a couple of 4A campuses. Throw a little love to the refs and add an official. It usually makes for better matches.

I watched the Spartanburg vs Mauldin game with the two refs. From what I could see all the bailout money went into grass for the football field. Mauldin doesn't typically have grass until late April.

At Sptbg we request 3 refs for all "bigger" games, the AD then decides which will get 3 refs. Typically, he will only spring for major region matches only. We can build putting greens for a country club but can't seem to find money for 3 referees.

3-1 at halftime. Heathwood battled back and fought hard. Excellent and dominant first half by BLS, but great effort by Heathwood to make it close in the second. Big region win for us. Heathwood's Logan Ress was injured pretty bad in the first half when she bent down low for a header. Got cut in the head by a cleat. Best wishes on a quick healing for her. Both teams played well and I'm proud of the effort we showed tonight!
