Why is it that so many subpar teams in South Carolina make the playoffs? The is no excuse for teams with such dismal records to even be in the playoffs. What incentive is there if you know the top four teams in a region will go out of a region consisting of 4-5 teams? I thought the playoffs were a privilege and teams were supposed to earn their way into them, not automatically make it if you achieve a record with a winning percentage well below .500. Wake up South Carolina, to me this is not acceptable, do you think it is?

Its pretty simple I think... there just aren't enough teams. Sure you could make the number of teams invited smaller.. but remember this is HIGH SCHOOL soccer. The quality of the 1st round matches would be "better" but there are literally hundreds of people missing the experience of post-season play.

And just to defend a 4-5 team region. If a team doesn't care its not going to care whether its in a 4 team region or a 6-8 team region. So what if they make it to the playoffs.. they will get blown-out by a #1 seed. Being in a 4 team region.. I know i'm going to go to the playoffs.. the question is.. will I be at home and what seed will I be playing. Just because you are garunteed post-season play doesn't mean you take it lightly.
