The interesting thing I see in this list is the fact that no team from the York and surrounding counties is playing at that level. Funny an area with such strong HS teams has no upper level club teams? Wonder what the table would look like if they could get thier act together up here!

(OH, sorry for the interuption we will now resume your regular thread!)

Playing at what level Chief?

This is a dumb thread. There is no correlation whatsoever between name and level of play.

Clubs typically name their teams based on their own hierarchy. WHether the top team is "Premier",or "Elite", or "Gold" or "Green"or "Blue".....is absolutely irrelevant.

It is simply a means of designating/separating "A" teams from "B" teams.

And while we're on the subject of misleading names and marketing manipulation.......how dare the folks at Bridge and CUFC name their new joint venture "South Carolina United".

Jeez.......how presumptious!!!!!

tongue in cheek......

Chief....there are a handful of team from York County playing at the highest level within SC. With the passing of the DSC team of Enzo and Alex and Tyler, etc.....no one if playing R3PL this year.

However, R3PL seems to be going the way of the dinaosaur also, given the rise of the USSF Academy. The best players are there, or heading there.

Hope you can ask the other club that named there team premier and played them in the classic league the same question? Let's move on or you can contact the people in charge of the Bridge.

Watch how easy this is. You are asking a simple question. The answer is that the club you are asking about typically plays their u-12 premier team in the U-13 classic league in the fall and the U-13 challenge league in the spring. Sometimes the U-12s will skip the classic league and play U-13 challenge both seasons.

See, simple question. Simple answer.

Here's another simple question. If you look at the above table, you will see Bridge 94 Gold in the same league. What was the reasoning for apparently changing the team designations from Gold and Red, to Premier and Challenge?

"how dare the folks at Bridge and CUFC name their new joint venture 'South Carolina United'."

Consider the source, and trend...

When Newton Heath Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway FC changed their name to Manchester United (the bigg daddy United) in 1902, Manchester City already existed and had with that name since 1894.

See how well the naming convention united this City. Why would anyone expect anything better? At least Newton Heath only tried to unite a City and not half a State.

If you look back CESA called their 94 girls team "Premier" before the won state cup and played in the Premier league.
I know that the new CUFC 94 premier team will play challenge this fall. They were called Bridge FA 94 Gold, and with the name and color changes they will now be called CUFC 94 Premier. Hope this answers your question.

I agree your are correct, sort of, I was talking about girls playing, note the table was only girls team. My point was more about the girls teams not boys. However I do wonder what would happen if NC changed their boys season to spring too.... Would we lose even more boys?? (there are some boys in Charlotte clubs who do not play school ball because they play high level club in NC).

Sorry if I gave the impression I was cutting the DSC boys out! Just imagine where we would be if DSC and the other clubs could work thing out.... ahh but that is another thread!

Virtually all of the better York County girls are in Charlotte with the exception of Alex Ramsey. Pretty safe guess is that if SC-NC seasons were aligned you'd see the same things with the boys.

Daddy, you say "...R3PL seems to be going the way of the dinaosaur also, given the rise of the USSF Academy. The best players are there, or heading there" ...and all is quiet on the northwestern front. But, if I would've said it, parker/mak and loc dog would've gone ballistic.

What is up with that ?!?!
