The annual Bearcats JV Kickoff Classic will be held March 5-6, 2010 at The Cage on the campus of Brookland-Cayce High School. Below is the boys tournament schedule:
Friday, March 5
Match #1, 5:30 pm - Brookland-Cayce vs. White Knoll
Match #2, 6:40 pm - A.C. Flora vs. Spring Valley
Match #3, 7:50 pm - Cardinal Newman vs. Ridge View
Match #4, 9:00 pm - Dreher vs. Lexington
Saturday, March 6
Match #5, 8:30 am - M#1 vs. M#2 Losers
Match #6, 9:45 am - M#3 vs. M#4 Losers
Match #7, 11:00 am - M#1 vs. M#2 Winners
Match #8, 12:15 pm - M#3 vs. M#4 Winners
Match #9, 2:00 pm - 7th Place - M#5 vs. M#6 Losers

Team Entry Fee = $125 (due February 8, 2010)
Tournament Pass = $10

30-minute halves; 5-minute halftime on Friday; 7-minute halftime on Saturday; straight to penalty kicks if tied

The 2010 Bearcats JV Kickoff Classic (boys tourney) has changed due to requests by Lexington HS and Spring Valley HS as their Athletic Directors want their student-athletes to be able to attend the S.C. High School League State Championships in basketball this weekend since both schools are participating.
The new schedule is as follows:
FRIDAY, MARCH 5
Match #1 @ 5 pm, Lexington vs. Spring Valley
Match #2 @ 6:15 pm, Ridge View vs. White Knoll
Match #3 @ 7:30 pm, Brookland-Cayce vs. A.C. Flora
Match #4 @ 8:45 pm, Cardinal Newman vs. Dreher
SATURDAY, MARCH 6
Match #5 @ 8:30 am, Match #1 Loser vs. Match #2 Loser
Match #6 @ 9:45 am, Match #3 Loser vs. Match #4 Loser
Match #7 @ 11 am, Match #1 Winner vs. Match #2 Winner
Match #8 @ 12:15 pm, Match #3 Winner vs. Match #4 Winner
Match #9 @ 2 pm, Match #5 Loser vs. Match #6 Loser (7th Place)

Come out and enjoy some competitive JV boys soccer - all four matches on Friday were decided by one goal (two via penalty kicks)! Saturday also features a "rivalry weekend" as all four matches feature arch-rivals facing each other in the Winners and Losers brackets.

Congratulations to the Dreher Blue Devils on the 2010 Bearcats JV Kickoff Classic Championship! Coach Michael Kleinfelder's squad slipped past Lexington, 1-0, in the Finals tonight at The Cage. Dreher's Patrick Binette converted a penalty kick in the 41st minute for the only goal of the match.
The tourney was very competitive as nine of the 12 matches were decided by one goal or ended in a draw. Final standings are as follows:
