So win state, regionals (again), and nationals. Then go to whatever OTHER tournaments don't mess with any of those above. Or form an academy team.

Reality is this, the most exposed team from SC is the one that won the national championship. They didn't force SC to change the state cup dates to play is some tournament. And look, everyone of those kids will be playing at a large school, mostly Div. 1. Is this tournament really making these kids better or making CESA look better????

Ok, I guess I'm a moron. My understanding was that the NL, or ECNL was formed for girls as kind of the feminine equivalent ot the USSF Academy program. Why would the boys need to do that?

Seems like there are two models going on. USYSA and USSF Academy.

USYSA involves ODP, State Cup, Region league play, Regions and Nationals.

So what is this thing they'e created thats interfering with State Cup? Is this kind of a US CLub soccer thing?

The ECNL is administered by US Club but is run by the clubs in the League.

And ODP is for anyone who wants to tryout... not for USYS

This league came in around the same time USSF academy came into existance - it is for both boys and girls

This is the tournament CESA will be this coming weekend
http://www.usyouthsoccer.org/news/story.asp?story_id=4940

Technicalli they are considered league games

Also note the last game CESA plays is Sunday at 9:30 AM

They would have 4 games in one week plus state cup

First time I've heard of the boys doing this.

So what are CESA's plans for Sunday, assuming they beat CSSC on Wednesday?

Sounds like they are playing:

Wed...Thurs...Fri....Sat...Sun...then maybe a second time on Sunday for State Cup? Not exactly ideal.

Did they not have a choice in this? We're all running amok.

If you check USYSA site you will se e that particpants in the league are required to attend all scheduled events...PLUS... they are required to particpate in the state cups. This is where the problemi came in... JUNE 09 when the schedule was released vs SCYSA seasonal schedule of Jan 09.

The USYSA penalizes non participating teams with expulsion from the league. One assumes that USYSA ASSUMED ( alot assumptions here) that all states annoint their champions in the May time frame, which Georgia and NC do

There are multiple ways to get into the program, via USYSA ODP, via US CLub Soccer id2 and through USSF academy

And Soccer 16 there is a chance of rain for Saturday, now it depends whose definition of "playable" you get... If USYSA can play regionals in monsoons in Texas and Oklahoma with shortened games you would think the definition has been made.
