Myrtle Beach won the match 2-1 at Memorial Stadium on Saturday and will play at North Myrtle Beach in the Lower State Championship. Dreher led 1-0, but the Seahawks scored a pair of goals in the final 11 minutes to edge the Blue Devils.

This marks the Seahawks fourth-straight trip to the Lower State finals losing in 2000 to Middleton and in 2001 and 2002 to Brookland-Cayce.

This will be NMB's first appearance in the LSC and the Chiefs defeated Myrtle Beach 4-3 (5-4 pk) on 3/14 at Little River and 3-1 on 4/1 at Myrtle Beach. In 2002, NMB slipped past MB 2-1 (ot) in the Michael Nash Invitational, but the Seahawks claimed both region matches, 4-1 and 3-0, respectively.

Should be a very tight and interesting match at Little River, S.C.

Go go goal, North Myrtle Beach field is exactly 118 yards long by 58 yards wide. As wide as any other field in the state that has an 8 lane track around it. It does dip down sharply in the corners but it is also covered with 5/8 inch bermuda grass and is in much better shape than 90% of the high school fields in the state.
I guess playing at the quarry isn't an advantage?
No excuses, go go going going gone... [Big Grin]

The Quarry? interesting because the way the ball was bouncing it looked like the field was made of rock. [Big Grin]
