good topic... I think it is evident that Hammond has the toughest schedule in SCISA considering the following out of conference games: Irmo (preseason #2 in 4A), South Aiken(defending 3A state champs), Darlington School out of Georgia, Dreher, Blythewood, Beaufort, West Florence and a few others.

Irmo and maybe south Aiken are the only good teams that you listed.

Pinewood on the other hand plays west Ashley who won the region that beaufort is in, wando who narrowly lost to irmo in ot last year, fort Dorchester who is easily as good as blythewood or dreher, north western 1st nationally, Farragut and Norman north both top 20 in the nation, bishop England who's always strong, and a slew of other 4a public schools and other competative teams...

so when you look at the strength of schedules and tough games you have to look outside of SCISA?

As if Blythewood couldnt, both are very talented programs. I'm pretty sure fernando was not recruited hes just always loved the coach and does have friends on the hammond squad. There is more than meets the eye as to why he left for hammond, yes he gets good grades and he is a talented soccer player. However i would not make such a claim as too Hammond recruiting unless you know all the facts.

I thought we moved on from the recruiting topic.. Hammond does not recruit.. The players and coaches are just great so everyone wants to attended the school..

Let hope that someone can beat Pinewood when it really matters. Hammond has the best team on paper and the toughest schedule.

But when it comes to actually winning the state championship, Pinewood is the best team.

I'm looking forward to watching these kids compete, I think it will be a good season, tough for the three teams.
