Congratulations to Joe Amon of SC United FC who came on in the 80th to make his full debut in the US 17s 4-1 victory over Mexico at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Fla.

Joe was selected out of 40 full time residency members for today's twenty man squad.

We hope this is the first of many caps to come! Well done Joe!

Does anyone know whether there has been any other South Carolinian to earn a National Team cap?

Congratulations to Joe. Onward and upward!

I dont think he did get a true "cap". I would bet Andy Kwon(Columbia Patriots/Spring Valley/Duke) got one before Temoc did. But that is just a guess.

I know Jon Cooper from Greenville FC/Riverside HS was with the 17s/18s for a few camps but I don't think he got a full cap. Same with Cardinal Newman Alum/NECSA product Adam Hill.

Anyone else know?

I'm pretty sure Temoc played for the U-17's in Italy. He may have even played for the U-20's in Australia but I'm not sure. Neither of these were full caps. I'm assuming Happy Daddy is asking if any other South Carolina natives made an appearance for the national team at any level.
