OP Hurst66 world cup Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 5,659 Tega Cay, SC	In 4A.....Spring Valley, Clover and Lexington on the rise while Irmo and Blythewood drop. White Knoll debuts. Three lowerstate and seven upperstate teams make up the Top 10. Riverside looks solid in 3A. Waccamaw still holding off BE in 2A. Kids play sports because they find it fun. Eliminate the fun and soon you eliminate the kid.

They and Spring Valley could be swaped or tied in the rankings with no real arguement. #2,3 & 4 all play each other in next few weeks so we might see movement up top then. In 3A South Aiken is nipping at Riverside's heals and with the strength of schedule argument could put pressure on them, but only if Riverside stumbles.

scwame throw in S Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 74	Why doesn't Waccamaw play any of the top 5 2A teams during the season? They are ranked #1 in 2A but the highest ranked team they play in 2A is #9. The rest of the top 5 in 2A seem to play each other. Woodruff Beat Christ Church. Christ Church beat Bishop England. Bishop England beat Brookland Cayce who beat Woodruff. Woodruff, Christ Church, and Waccamaw all lost to Riverside. What team has Waccamaw beaten that #2,#3,#4 in 2A have lost to that puts Waccamaw holding #1. What would change their #1 ranking when they never play comparable teams within 2A? They are possibly still the best team in 2A but it would make it more defendable if they actually played higher ranked teams in 2A. I would guess distance plays into why they don't play Woodruff or Christ Church, but why don't they play Bishop England during the season?

I will take a cue from several of the posts about club soccer, Maybe they are more interested in wins than player development.
