You know, I haven't heard their spiel so I don't know what their plan is. I would think they would be a bigger threat to the YC clubs in terms of challenging them for u9-12 teams than they would CESA.

Its ludicrous to me to even consider these guys challenging CESA or SC United or someone like that anytime soon.

They are good coaches with somewhat of a following. If they have a line on money and can afford to build a couple of fields over the next year or 2....or get access to new fields not yet build but planning on being built in the next year or 2. And if they are patient and build from the bottom up....maybe in 5 years they could threaten to become consistently competitive on a statewide basis.

It will be interesting. Both Rob and Vic are used to coaching teams on the cusp of Region 3 quality. I don't believe they will have that option for awhile. I think they'll have new young teams.....and older, less successful teams. I also think they'll struggle to have that.

But this is the funny season in greater Charlotte...and one never knows what might happen. Discoveries has a solid boys program.....but girls teams have never really taken off. Back in the day with Northside there was a steady stream of solid girls teams.....most of those girls play in NC now. Or CESA. Maybe their plan is to build a niche with girls teams?

I don't see what they are offering that doesn't already exist. Folks continue to preach to have York County and vicinity under one umbrella, which has been started with the new UPFC club but still have Discoveries out there and now the Rush. We don't need splinters, we need unity. You take a serious look at Columbia, Charleston, and Greenville/Spartanburg, they are combining while the small fish up here on the border continue to divide. Just don't get it and never will.

It will be interesting to see if SC Rush is successful. I'm not betting on it. I don't want that to sound negative.

But to your point....whats their niche? What do they offer that isn't offered already? The fact that they are a franchise of a national club....what does that really mean? Are they going to go USYSA or US Club?

At the end of the day you need fields, coaches, players.

In a few weeks I guess we'll learn what they offer.

Suppose we could get them all in one room and lock the door until they learn to work together?

I guess the big question is who is the hold out? I would guess that if the concerned "bloggers" get it so do the "powers that be" in these clubs and since they know it why are they not doing it? I know there are good people in each of these organizations wonder why the things can't be made to work for everyone, or do we need 3 or 4 clubs in York (and upper Lancaster) county?

Well I wonder if anyone has anything to report on tryouts. Was there much of a turnout?

I saw that both coaches who were starting it were also commited to coach in NC next fall (LNSC and CSA). Still does not seem like much info out there.

looks like the club could be catering to those who can't make CSA but still want to play on the top team in the club--also, those in NC will have easier competition in SC leagues.
