In a game last night, a player from one team jumped on another players back and held on while the other player tried to shake him off, got no foul, no card, and got possession of the ball. What should the refs have done?

Two questions:

1. What game was that?

2. Why was Stevie Wonder reffing?

This was the Ridge View Lancaster game, the ball was given back to Lancaster after one of their players was on a Ridge View players back.

and I'm not sure honestly haha, I enjoy his music a little more than the reffing though.

Was this guy your referee? Seen him a time or two in the midland's games. Think he was at the Chapin game the other night.

That has happened repeatedly in the low country. I still don't understand the rule and have never seen it at any level. Why penalize a team in possession because someone is "hurt"? If there is no blood or no broken bones, then let play resume until the ball goes out of bounds. If an injury does occur, just play it out and let the team throwing the ball in resume by giving the ball back to the possessing squad. Ridiculous rule!

haahah that video is hilarious, I havent seen it in a while. Having that ref would be quite the experience.

AndHatem Ben Arfa, no one was injured during the incident, but while both players tried to get possession of the ball, the player literally was on the RV players back holding his arms around him so that while the RV player shook to get him off he went absolutely nowhere, and the foul was called on Ridge View

With out seeing the play it is difficult discuss. One item of note is that: if both players are going for the ball with one jumping in the air and the other player kinda of pushing underneath that player there may be a rule where the player who does not jump should get the call. I have seen alot of players try to undercut the player actually going for the ball and the call go the complete other way.

On another note I find it very humorous that a Ridge View supporter would complain about referees. From what I have seen in two games they get the benefit of the doubt more times than not with their rough play.
