Which match-ups are everyone looking forward to the most? Any potential upsets or do the favorites roll through? Looking forward to Irmo vs Beaufort as these two teams played a close one earlier in the season. Had someone tell me that Beaufort bleached their hair too. Does anyone know if this is true? Gonna be tough watching a game with so much bleach on one field.

West Ashley @ Wando

Met March 30, with Wando winning 6-3. Each team had an Own Goal!

Players very familiar with each other....have played Club Soccer as teammates and opponents for years.

yes, the Beaufort boy's definitely bleached their hair. Gotta say I was hoping for a different show of solidarity, but it was a decision they made months ago if they won region.

Wando vs. Irmo
Northwestern vs. Mauldin

If Lexington can't take down Wando, West Ashley sure can't. Beaufort has gone toe to toe with Irmo earlier in the season, but that one game didn't show everything Irmo has. These Irmo boys have been here before and Savitz will hold them together for the win. Mauldin has proved itself throughout the season while Fort Mill is overrated. Greenwood has some wild defeats and they were ran into the ground quite a few times. Northwestern will do the same thing. NW has Ricky Garbanzo, Dennis Moore, and Alex Martinez. The finals are a different topic, but for now I believe Wando, Irmo, Mauldin, and NW will be advancing.

Not sure if Beaufort bleaching their hair was the best idea. Seems like that has the potential to only give Irmo extra incentive to take care of business on Saturday. Especially at W.C. Hawkins.

It's shaping up to be Northwestern at Mauldin and Wando at Irmo. Yeah Boy!

beaufort gets a -20 out of 10 on the originality scale. ive always hated the bleached hair, but you still have to respect irmo soccer, and its a symbol of that program. so imposters?

im seeing irmo win this one big....

I agree completely. They could have come up with something else.

Fort Mill might be over-rated but they are still playing and I will guarantee you that they will get off the bus at Mauldin tomorrow night. It should be a good game and hope both teams ready to play! It could be a war based upon past history. Hopefully refs properly control game and game decided by the players and coaches. Looking forward to an exciting match.

Game time 6:30p @ Mauldin.

It seems to be a tradition at irmo for playoffs but Beaufort? really... i guess region champs with an 8-3 record is a start for theirs.

Well let's hope the hair isn't the most exciting thing we see tonight in Irmo. Their's no question about a lack of originality. I cringed when I heard of their plan weeks ago. My guess is that Irmo will be focused and ready to play even if Beaufort showed up to play in speedo's and wife beater's. Maybe the lad's are paying homage to a program they're trying to emulate.
Can anyone tell me who Irmo was missing the first time these two met?

I can say taht Beaufort has improved their game since the new coach (Nieves I think) took over. They seem to be more pass-oriented and technical.......

I think it's nice to have traditions. I always thought the bleached hair made Irmo look like drag queens.

It's a compliment to emulate, but let's come up with something else.

That's a multi faceted question that cannot properly be addressed on a message board. He was a Young coach dealing with players, parents, and admin's and though sometimes we have the best of intentions, the ends don't always justify the means. Suffice to say that the lad's are responding nicely to the situation and seem to be heading in the right direction.

Congratulations to IRMO highschool for showing up well against a very improved Beaufort team... I think after the game the Irmo players realized that Beaufort weren't a push over squad so also Big ups to Beaufort... Irmo v Wando should be a very intriguing match up can't wait

Congrats to irmo on their win. Our lad's played with a ton of heart and showed a lot of poise but that bunch from irmo is solid from front to back.

Those irmo fans were a lil put out with those of us who were in attendance to cheer on our squad. Go figure.
