U18 Boys CESA 2 - Arkansas 1
Well done men... I believe there are 14 players there from this CESA U18 team, due to travel and vacations. 2 of the 14 are Keepers who both also saw action on the field yesterday due to the 104 degree heat index.

With the USSF Development Academy, unfortunately the USYSA series is irrelevant. It's so watered down with the top teams and players gone. However, for those interested, the USSF Academy playoffs are 150 plus miles up the road in Greensboro, NC next week. Not a bad day trip for top youth soccer for the boys.

I don't think the title of this thread is benefits of USSF Academy vs USYSA. These players/teams have worked very hard to get to regionals and once upon a time your kid belonged in this watered down league too. Please take your negative comments and start your own thread. Good luck to your team in the playoffs.

Apologies again to everyone. Really was read the wrong way. Best of luck to SC club teams at USYSA Regionals! Got no dog in the fight, just a soccer fan of all levels wanting to see the game develop the right way. Sometimes an objective opinion is just that.

LMPITYTW, stating an opinion is what these forums are about. If the truth hurts, again, I do apologize. But, this is an opinion based medium and all did was state one person's opinion. Maybe a good time to leave the kitchen.

U18 boys finished at midnight last night and won their 2nd game 5-0. Note: due to severe weather games were postponed late yesterday... thus 4 U18 teams were warming up at midnight, after the CESA game, getting ready for their games.
Nevertheless, keep up the great work men!

Sounds like poor planning on someone's part. That's absurd to have youth players out at that time of night to play.

maybe i can help vouche for the "bad planners". i was lucky enough to be at the oklahoma city regionals where it had rained of quite a long time leading up to the tournament and during the tournament. we were forced to play 20 minute halfs on mud drenched fields. if they were able to get full games in at 12 oclock by all means do it in my opinion

I don't understand the poor planning? Not sure they can help the weather. We went to knoxville this year. Played a 9:00 game Saturday morning, then it started to rain. At about 10:00 that night, they canceled the tournament. Stuff happens.

Problem was that only a few of the fields have lights which accounted for the number of very late games. the kids didn't mind because they could play in 80 degree weather rather than 100 degrees. Have been very impressed with this facility. Fields are in good shape and there is plenty of parking. Too bad Baton Rouge is a swamp with every highway under construction

is a shame that 5 members of the Cesa 91 Premier team left the team and have left them with no subs. With the departure of so many strong teams to the Academy, this team would have a very strong chance to win if they had some depth in this horrible heat.

CESA 92 Premier (SC) vs Tri-Angle (NC)

Final: 0-2

Congratulations on a successful season gentlemen. The last two losses are not a reflection of your overall body of work and the success you've enjoyed.

CESA 92 Premier are always a pleasure to watch play, win or loose. Your character on and off of the field is something to be respected and admired by those who follow the team.

Keep up the good fight and best of luck to each of you and to the CESA teams who have moved on to the next round.

sorry, forgot the rest of the post... apparently the 118 heat index at Regionals (yes, I did check this twice) called for every 15 minute water breaks and still had people visiting the medic tent. and we think its hot in SC.

Shrink -- Why no subs? You'd think that if it's a regional and "the best" players are playing, that you'd have a full squad of 18 players. Can you shed some light on this?

I dont know about the boys, but the CESA 92 girls only had 14 players on their roster. One player wasnt able to be cleared to play because of injury and didnt make the trip.Another player had to have an emergency appendectomy on Friday(hopefully she is getting out of the hospital today),and another aggravated a lingering injury. So playing in that heat and humidity was no mardi gras for the girls.Plus the competition was outstanding. Our girls did a great job, even if they didnt bring back the hardware.and believe me that 118 temp. is no exageration.

Relax...breathe,then bust it!!
