The annual Bearcats JV Kickoff Classic will be held March 4-5, 2011 at The Cage on the campus of Brookland-Cayce High School. Below is the eight-team boys tournament schedule:
Friday, March 4
Match #1, 5:00 pm - Ridge View vs Spring Valley
Match #2, 6:10 pm – Northwestern vs. Cardinal Newman
Match #3, 7:20 pm - Brookland-Cayce vs. White Knoll
Match #4, 8:30 pm - Blythewood vs. Lexington
Saturday, March 5
Match #5, 8:30 am - M#1 vs. M#2 Losers
Match #6, 9:45 am - M#3 vs. M#4 Losers
Match #7, 11:00 am - M#1 vs. M#2 Winners
Match #8, 12:15 pm - M#3 vs. M#4 Winners
Match #9, 2:00 pm - 7th Place - M#5 vs. M#6 Losers
Match #10, 3:15 pm - 5th Place - M#5 vs. M#6 Winners
Match #11, 4:30 pm - 3rd Place - M#7 vs. M#8 Losers
Match #12, 6:00 pm - Championship - M#7 vs. M#8 Winners
Tourney Information
• Team Entry Fee = $150 (due February 8, 2011) Mail check to: Brookland-Cayce High School, 1300 State Street, Cayce, SC 29033
• Tournament Pass = $10
• Match Ticket = $4
• 30-minute halves; 5-minute halftime on Friday; 7-minute halftime on Saturday
• Matches advance straight to penalty kicks if tied – but match will be recorded as a tie and advancement/placement is determined only by the penalty kicks
• Team listed first is home team and wears light colored jersey

Due to the Ridge View boys basketball and the Spring Valley girls basketball team playing for the SCHSL State Championships next Friday at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, the Bearcats JV Kickoff Classic schedule has been amended to allow these student-athletes to attend the state finals.

Congratulations to Northwestern on the 2011 Bearcats JV Kickoff Classic Championship. The Trojans outlasted host Brookland-Cayce 2-1 in the tourney title match.
Blythewood bested Richland School District Two rival Spring Valley 1-0 for third place.
The tournament was very well attended and good luck to all participating squads this spring!

What happened on that play with the bicycle kick? That should be a caution for the Northwestern player since it is in the air.
