Coaches,
Northwestern High School, in conjunction with Discoveries Soccer Club (DSC) and the City of Rock Hill, is in the process of organizing the Inaugural DSC High School Shoot Out. This tournament will take place at Manchester Meadows, Rock Hill’s soccer facility. This facility includes two 120X80 artificial turf fields. Our plan is to have four local, York County, SC teams, and four out of area teams. We will split the teams into two groups with two local and two outside teams. Each team will play 3 games of group play and one placement game at the end. The tournament will run from Thursday, March 31st, 2011 through Saturday, April 2nd, 2011. Each team will play one game Thursday and Friday and two games on Saturday.
We are currently working with local hotels to see what we might be able to offer the teams coming from outside the area. We are also working with local restaurants to have at least one meal donated to each out of area team. There will not be an entry fee for your team to participate, however, we will ask that you pre-purchase at least 18 tournament T-Shirts. Our hope is to make this a very competitive tournament and a great experience for all teams that attend.
We are sending invitations to teams from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia along with this invitation to teams from South Carolina. Several of the teams being invited are currently ranked in the ESPN Rise Top 50. The tournament will be filled in the order teams respond. We hope to set the final field as soon as we can.
