Agreed, The Citadel deserves a lot of credit. CofC appears to be going through a period of adjustment to a new coach: not entirely unexpected. Truth is, all 3 Lowcountry programs should benefit from the prominence and proximity of Wando's program, among others.

I haven't looked at the rosters of these three schools, are there a number of Wando girls playing college soccer locally?

I think CSU has the most local players. They have two Urig sisters from Wando and a couple of players from James Island. I'm not sure about ElCid and CofC.

Good question, so I checked. CSU clearly has the most Lowcountry players: 2 from Wando, two from James Island. They also have a player from Greenville and one from Spartaburg. The Citadel has only two players from South Carolina on the roster: 1 from Florence/Wilson, the other from Lexinton/Lexington. CofC has the most players (6) with state ties, but none from the Lowcountry. They are from Anderson/Wren, Irmo/Irmo, Simpsonville/Mauldin, Piedmont/Woodmont, Greenville/J.L. Mann, and Walhalla/Walhalla.
Maybe they ALL should look a bit closer to home, though The Citadel's unique demographic may make that difficult. And maybe my thought SHOULD have been that, judging by last year's state title, Wando may have some who will play college soccer.

I don't think high school state titles correlate. Wando has been good for a very long time.
Mauldin and Riverside have been very good for a long time, yet Clemson, Furman and USC-Upstate have never stocked their roster with local players. All D1 colleges in the Carolinas recruit nationally. Heck, look at little D2 Belmont Abbey's roster....many of their impact players are from California.
If South Carolina colleges begin harvesting Palmetto State girls, is it because of successful high school programs like the three mentioned above, or would more credit go to the club teams who are showing positive results in the Region III Premier League?

Good question.
I tend to put more stock in club/premier training/results, as opposed to high school training/results, but neither to the exclusion of the other. I've seen good and bad training at both.
I would say that the three greatest positive influences on mine have been 2 club coaches and a high school coach, with a former club coach providing the challenge needed to push on and excel.
In general, high school coaches, due to kids' age, pretty much get finished products. They can refine and motivate, but by age 15, much of the heavy lifting has been done.
Were I a college recruiter, I would look at the ENTIRETY of a kid's experience.
