How is Ben Lippen looking this year? How is Airport looking? Does anyone have any comments about the BL vs. Airport game? Either a very defensive game or very little development up top...

It was a very physical game. Both teams played well. On one occasion, the Airport keeper stopped 5 shots in one play sequence.

Sounds like a good match. Takes a lot for a keeper to stop a sequence of shots. Congrats to ya.

In response to the Eastside/Dorman game...I don't feel that to be an upset at all. I have felt all along the Dorman would have an off year this year because they have very little depth, if any. Also, Eastside is one of the best teams in the state this year, regardless of their classification(AAA)...Their scrimmage on Friday against Irmo should be a very hard-fought match, and it could very well show everyone what to look forward to this upcoming season.

Wando 2-0 Porter-Gaud. At the 30 minute half mark, the score was 0-0. Wando put one in the net off David Newton on a rookie PG keeper and weak defense that lacked three starters. Wando had several good strikes in the first half and PG had several opportuniies at the beginning of the second. The second Wando goal came at the very last seconds off a free kick that rolled into the side netting. Wando controlled most of the game, but PG was missing several starters on defense and in the midfield. Wando is a very organized and well-coached team that will be a threat in 4-A.

green&white knight00, James signed with coastal Carolina,he liked the coach, the program and the opportunity to be a starter in his fresh year. The whole community(minus a few gamecock& clemson fans) are all behind his decision as of course so are we. Thanks for asking.

This is in reply to Score More:
Score More you need to stop talking trash. When you get beat 10 to 0 there is absolutely no room to talk. So I suggest for your own sake to keep from talking trash against teams that have beaten you that bad.

Kicker... sounds like a great fit for him. When he played against my team (WF) and i saw him kick a kickoff from the 35 into the endzone, convert an onside kick at the end of the game and punt the way he did he got all of my respect. Good luck to him.

Dreher- 5 LE- 0
New defense.. new keeper..uhh good match. Our midfield did well..but we could never really make the transition into the attacking third and get a shot off. One of our starting forwards left early in the match with a (last I heard) broken thumb.. and a Dreher player went down at the beginning of the 2nd half..(someone said ACL..but who knows).. Anyways.. It was good to get out onto the field together.

On Tuesday the 10th we (TL Hanna) beat Wren 5-0, obviously not a big upset.
Tonight (Friday 13) we beat Chapin 1-0 in a forty minute match, and then beat Emerald 1-0 in another forty minute match at the Emerald Jamboree or something like that.

Yeah..like big ouch..and out for a long time. But that is just what someone who was up there said was said..so you never know. I was on the other side of the field when it happened. I just know it was a very hard clean challenge by both players..and he was helped off the field by two teammates. Can anyone from Dreher shed some light?

I dont think that SHS should be that good this year considering they lost just about there whole starting line up last year. I know their jv was pretty weak also. Im sure Socsastee could take em.

Yeah, the reffs make very questionable calls for both sides the whole game. A couple of bad offsides calls wiped out scoring chances for both teams, good thing it was only a scrimage. I guess it's preseason for them too.

Yes, the refs were horrible. --- West Florence better go hard Monday. I see MB winning, but West Florence will keep it close. I'm going for West Florence on Monday. I know you guys better have weekend practice. Put it on them hard, break their necks, legs, faces, hearts etc. Get it West Florence.

It was WF's first scrimage meaning first "game action" for a lot of new varsity players, especailly new defenders so hopefully a better team will come out against MB on Monday b/c we will need to. Not to take anything away from NMB, they are a good team.
We are just trying to get better for the season by playing these good teams and hopefully we can hang with them.

Ecactly raider... preseason.
You can't a judge team in preseason too hard. A lot of them are still fitting pieces together and working other new players in. Tournaments are much more meaningful than scrimages though.

Was it a good game or did one of the teams dominate most of the play? With Myrtle Beach returning all of their players did they have the team chemistry advantage even though it is PRE SEASON...

Myrtle Beach pretty much dominated on offense the whole game. We might have gotten 2 shots on goal the whole game. We scored both of our goals on throw ins and MB scored on a pk and a two break away shots.
Our defense did a good job turning them away for the most part aside from 3 lapses. They are a pretty solid team all around. Their back 3 are amazing and the keep is pretty solid. Great team speed.

Edisto lost to Calhoun Academy last friday night 2-1 and defeated Strom Thurmond 3-2 on tuesday night. A suprise showing from a team that returns only one starter from last year. Their striker and 2 forwards are all sophmores.
