The U.S. U-14 Boys’ National Team is set for its lone international training of 2011, an annual trip to Guadalajara, Mexico, from Jan. 16-23 that will include eight days of training and a series of friendly matches against local youth clubs, including Atlas and Chivas de Guadalajara.

Every player on the roster was born in 1997, and were identified through the yearly player identification camp (held in August 2010) and U.S. Soccer Training Centers. Of the 36 players on the roster, 23 were part of the team’s trip to the Disney Thanksgiving Interregional event in Orlando, Fla., in November. That event marked the second for the 1997 group under U-14 Boys’ head coach Manny Schellscheidt. Players born in 1996 have now advanced to the Under-15 level.
