I decided to do some research from people "in the know" instead of making it up this time. I discussed the magnet
situation and discovered that it is no longer an athletic advantage. It turns out that over the last three years the district determines who is accepted based on grades, resume and whether the students current school can not offer the program they desire. Putting academics first; a neat idea. When it first started I was informed that there was a little abuse but that has been corrected. What you want to be is special permission school like a Riverside or a Mauldin.
They can accept up to 20 students for no other reason than out of the kindness of their heart. Hmmmm.
This is a shocker and will take some time to digest for some of you. The important thing is I don't want any apologies and please don't bash the special permission schools. They were in the dark and since they are not magnet schools they have not developed the research and information processing skills I have now since I live near one.
The research is in its infant stage and I will be using my highly magnetized brain to the max to finish this project in a timely manner. Please don't feel sorry for us magnets because we will continue to compete as best we can and should at least be able to produce Duke football players.
