Final results are in from the Sandhills Soccer Classic and the South Aiken Thoroughbreds have claimed the 2004 tournament title!

South Aiken downed Hilton Head 3-1 in the championship, while Ridge View handled Richland Northeast 8-0 in the Third Place match.

Following are the tourney records: Ridge View (2-0-1); Riverwood-GA (2-0-1); Westminster-GA (2-0-1); Hilton Head (2-1-0); South Aiken (2-1-0); Lexington (0-2-1); Richland Northeast (0-3-0); and Pendleton (0-3-0).

South Aiken (2-1-0);
Riverwood-GA (2-0-1);
Westminster-GA (2-0-1);

How does South Aiken win the tournament with a 2-1-0 record especailly when they lost to one of the georgia team who finished 2-0-1.
Probably has to do with some Geogia rules like the Irmo tourney

count zero, that's precisely the reason South Aiken played in the championship of the Sandhills Soccer Classic ... Georgia High School League rules prohibit teams from playing Sunday, so therefore Riverwood and Westminster had to finish on Saturday.

Coach Darlington and Ridge View put on a terrific tournament especially considering the adjustments that needed to be made due to inclement weather and Georgia HS League rules. We (Pendleton) would like to thank Coach Darlington for inviting us to his tournament and allowing us to play against those highly talented teams. Good luck to everyone on the upcoming season!
