#13-Berea over #3-Wade Hampton in pks (4-2) #14-Greenville over #12-Eastside in pks (4-2)
Region II is the region of death for 3A! Travelers Rest was #6 last week until they dropped a game in pks (not sure how they go from #6 to #16 with only a pk loss). That region is five teams deep playing for four spots!

Any more support for 3A and 4A going to a seeding system similar to 1A and 2A??

Sumter 1 : Carolina Forest 4
This game had one horrible ref. He was out of position the whole game. He called 0 offsides in first half but in second half the other ref called offsides 6 times. So your telling me the second half Sumter forgot where the offsides line was. Sumter looked good don't let the score fool you this is a good team. Once the keeper gets a little more seasoned this could be a dangerous team to play.

Besides region VI in 3A, there may not be another region at any level that goes 5 teams deep.
AAA teams VI-Chapin, Flora, BC, Dreher, Airport
II-Eastside, TR, G-ville, Wade Hampton, Berea
All of these teams would make the playoffs in any other 3A or division in the state.
So wakka-feel free to enlighten me-

Just to let everyone know, NHS didn't have many of their starters playing, their best players, though the young ones did great tonight. It would of been different if they would of been playing.

This kind of excuse for losing will normally look best if you provide some type of reason for the players not being there. Say SAT test, buponic plauge out break or something like that. The outcome was close to the same, but worse for NHS, when they played last time when the starters were there so why would you say "It would of been different"?

Not an excuse, just the fact. The 3 time State Champion GK, Sam Faris,Mid-Fielder Kevin Ray,Forward Ricardo Garbanzo, and Center Back Jacob Alvarez can lose you a game if they aren't playing. I don't play anymore guys, wish I did, miss it a lot.

Interested to see a reveiw from the Irmo/Nations Ford game. I heard it was 1-1 at halftime and that Irmo had a player sent off in the first half as well. Was interested to see opinions of how Irmo's play changed in the second half. I saw their game against DF last friday and came away very unimpressed. While they still won 3-0 it was not a performance that seemed up to the standard they're use to demonstrating. Their play was very narrow and they really struggled to keep possession against what looked like an extremely average DF squad. To their credit the field at DF was in absolutely awful condition and players struggled to keep their feet throughout the match. If anyone could give me a recap of the Nations Ford game, that'd be great. Manchester I know you're out there somewhere. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the DF game from last Friday as well.

hollywood...from what I heard, I believe you probably won't see much of a review of the game from Irmo people. They are probably trying to be polite and not give a review of the game for a few reasons. Sounds like the refereeing was a bit suspect. I was not there, but I heard that the referee gave a red in the first four minutes of the game for vulgar language to a kid that it is almost laughable that he received a card for that. Then I heard that the referee kept getting up in the faces of the captains of the Irmo squad and kept asking them if they wanted to stay in the game, telling them to quit arguing with him. The funny part to that is that he would do this when Irmo got a free kick, so it seemed interesting. Also heard that there was a handling call that was called that ended up being a PK against Irmo because a ball hit a kid in the upper arm area/shoulder while he was looking away from the ball. Also heard that the center referee reversed multiple AR calls on who's ball it was, and would whistle the ball out when the AR hadn't put their flag up. Finally, I heard that he got into the passing lanes for Irmo and got hit multiple times with passes. Now, let me tell you, I am a referee, and if I even get hit once in a game that tells me that I was in a bad position...but to get hit multiple times is telling me that it was intentional, or else the guy was a complete moron.
I would hope that the game was not refereed as bad as what I heard, but you never know. This is only what was relayed on to me, so take it with a grain of salt that is was second hand knowledge.
Did anybody else see the same thing that was at the game?
If you are going to argue a point, at least get factual information to back up your side.....

Bad refereeing in the YC? Not a chance. Coach P....say it ain't so!!! Same crew as Lancaster-Clover girls game maybe....
Although.....no one from Columbia should ever complain about biased games. My personal experiences are that we get homered every time we go there, club or high school.

soccerboy, you could question a few of the calls but felt center reffed the game better than the majority I have been at or seen. Didn't get same read as your post and really didn't see the PK call. He did let BOTH teams get away with obvious pushing in back, jersey grabbing, and throw ins 10+ yds up the field. Thought both sets of parents were pretty cool over all. When I reffed a few years back, we were told certain words where straight red, no questions asked. We were asked by Fred and AD's to strictly enforce. Back to the game, Irmo keeper made solid stop on PK. Emmett and Dunbaker were work horses constantly covering an amazing amount of ground. Irmo attack seemed very predictable with not much originality. Need to consider that Nation Ford did not have their two best defenders at the game. One with an academy commitment and the other sitting out a red card from the Fort Mill game. Irmo picked on the two freshman outside backs. Thought NF had a pretty strong game in middle of field. Saw one of the top Irmo defenders megged multiple times and beat one on one by the NF RM that set up their goal. Irmo defenders did have amazing distanct and accuracy on their clears. #15 from Irmo appeared to read the game well. Irmo filled all the attacking lanes consistently and missed numerous possible goal scoring opportunities off headers. Solid side but didn't see the team I was expecting from the posts on this board and their #1 ranking. Not having seen them play before, don't know impact of the losing the CB early had on team. Irmo did move the ball on the ground well with Emmett heart of team, controlling center, and distributing the ball very well. Irmo kept shape well overall but hats off to Nation Ford for the battle and effort they displayed. The last 4-5 weeks of this season should be interesting. Just hope that the two best teams make it to the championship game.
