Big girls match between Riverside and Mann Thurs at Riverside. I just found out that Riverside would prefer that everyone sit on the home side for the game. Some new Kum Ba Ya program started by the booster club to promote peaceful co-existance and to ensure everyone is watching the same game.
I have my doubts but they said it was a hit at the Lacrosse game. I'll give it a try but am not doing the wave.
Also; whom ever is driving the van for Riverside will need to pick me up.

From the SCHSL constitution:
"The Executive Committee strongly recommends that schools reserve and designate certain sections as visitors' seats. These should be good seats on the opposite side of the playing area from the home fans. Home fans should be restricted from roaming or standing in front of the visitors stands and vice versa."

Patriot, nice try to "stir it up".

There is NO interest in having Mann sit on the home side.

Please inform all the Patriots that as always, the visitors should sit on the visitor side.

As we do, when we visit your stadium.

I have no idea, but has JL Mann beaten Riverside in the last 5-10 years? How big would a win by the Patriots be?

I can't see the game from the visitor side. Its behind the trees away from the stadium. I can't hear the announcements either

I always thought it was appropriate to have the scoreboard read 'Guests' instead of 'Visitors'. Just seems more cordial.

I will personally tell the announcer to turn the volume up so that you can hear all the announcements.

After last nights performance todays game is called due to the lack of consistancy. Sorry. Let you know when we are ready. feel free to scrimmage amongst yourselves

Soccerpop, did you hear two distinctive bells ringing with 4 minutes to go in the Riverside-Mann game? It was kind of AC/DC..ish. I think I did or it could of been my double dose of allergy medicine.

I heard that they were "chimes for DEFENSE".

I heard a late bell from a ref who wanted to go home and not go to overtime.

What a great game. Got to yell at refs and hear wonderful announcements. Nice bright sun in my face for 2 hours since I had to seat on the visitor side. Sad to see 2 man crew for the game. Hard to officiate a competitive, physical game with just 2 but I thought they let them play. If they had called every push, hook and grab there wouldn't have been 1 min of continuous play so why with less than six to play and half dozen girls at top of the box kicking and pushing do you decide to now blow a whistle. Was a mann girl pushing; probably. Was a Riverside girl pushing, probably. I think Riverside got short end on a few offsides on breakaways also.
Riverside won because they created more opportunities and applied more pressure. You see several basketball games where a team scores on the last second by a tough call and the good coaches always say if we played better it wouldn't have gotten to that point in the game.
Several years ago during a heated club game decided by a last minute call: all the players were upset and cards were flying everywhere. The coach pulled them aside after game and said " I go into the game knowing the officiating is going to be suspect. So keep your mouths shut, take care of yor end and I'll handle the refs. If your don't like it, get better and score more goals and it won't come to this."
Although I usually remember this after the game not before.
