Who are the teams to beat this year? Of course I'm biased because I play for them, but we (Blackville-Hilda) should be tough to beat in 1A this year. After an injury plagued season last year, we seem to be back to our old selves. Maybe another state championship run like in 2002... How are CC, SSC, Buford, 96, and Dixie this year?

I play for SCS and we've already beaten Travelers Rest, Ninety Six, and Landrum and we play Woodruff today, Dixie monday, and then the big game with Christ Church is Tuesday. We've got a solid team and I think SCS and Christ Church are the two best 1A teams in the state. SCS should be ahead of Buford in the rankings but since they won lower state last year I can see how they got it.

Sexual Grapefruit (what is that really?), glad to see you posting again this year. We, the Governor's School, feel slighted that you didn't mention us in your list of contenders (just kidding). But then, being the Governor's School, nobody can guess what kind of team we'll have from year to year as we lose our seniors and gain a fresh batch of juniors. So, hopefully, we'll let the season run it's course and see how we stack up. Maybe we'll be around at the end to compete in the lower state championship, maybe not. But hey, we're happy with our 4th place ranking todate.

Any predictions on the Christ Church vs. Southside Christian game on Tuesday? How bad did Christ Church beat Buford last year in the state finals?

I would also like to see somebody update the SCS games that we've played, b/c if they did we'd be #3 instead of #4. We've beat Travelers Rest 2-1, Ninety Six 2-0, Landrum 11-0, and Woodruff 4-1.

Buford lost 8-1 to CC.

DCA, how many seniors does SCS have this year? Who is the raw talent there this year? Just curious.
Since you guys are solid, how do you think you will fare against CC?

I'll be pulling for Gov's School this year Coach Cady... keep it up. Good job on the Camden win.

We have 7 guys that have played or still play classic soccer for either St. Giles or GFC. We only have 3 seniors this year, and they're all good players but only one of them is outstanding. And we've got a huge pool of really good juniors that'll be returning next year. I think that the game with CC will be really good because they lost a lot last year and so did we, but we also got some new guys this year and I'm not sure what've they've acquired. But we play on Tuesday so we'll just have to see how it goes. I'm not promising an SCS win, but it'll be a good game.

I think that it is wide open this year. I mean, I have always followed 1A soccer, but I am new to this board. I live near Blackville, and they are the only team around here that plays, other than Williston, who are pretty sorry.

Anyway, Blackville looks good again, and they are poised at a run. The only problem that I see is that they are on their third coach in three years, and that may be a problem. I wonder if they can make it.
