South Carolina's first and only post-collegiate women's elite level soccer team will see its first action against W-League competition.

Friday, May 6 is an historic day for soccer in the state of South Carolina. The United Soccer Leagues (USL) W-League is the second-highest tier of women's professional soccer in the United States. Ben Lippen will play host to the first meeting between W-League opponents to be held in the state of South Carolina. The newly formed Central SC Cobras will face off against the Charlotte Lady Eagles as the Cobras match with W-League competition for the first time.

The Cobras were founded in 2009 and formed in 2010 and were officially announced as members of the USL's W-League on April 1, 2011. Many of the players hail from South Carolina hometowns, colleges, and universities. The Lady Eagles are back-to-back USL W-League Eastern Conference Runner-Up and will be a great first test for the hometown Cobras.

Come out to Ben Lippen's Hathaway-Weeber Stadium on Friday, May 6 and witness history as the W-League officially comes to South Carolina! Game time is set at 7:00 PM.
