We are excited about the quality of our field for 2012. It seriously appears to be the best tournament field ever!

We have a contingency commitment with another team from Canada, but would need to be able to offer their girls' team matches while they are here. Also, that would give us 11 teams and we would like to have a balanced tourney of 12 teams if indeed we could land the Canadian side. If your team is interested in attending the 2012 Palmetto Cup -- GREAT COMPETITION!!! -- please let me know as soon as possible, so that we may work on facilitating their request.

If you have ten teams and everyone plays 4 games, why would there not be 2 groups of 5 where 1st place of each group advances to the championship? Doesn't make sense to do random scheduling.

Totally agree that this would have been the easiest way to bracket this year's Palmetto Cup, but:

* due to four teams not being on Spring Break and needing night matches;
* working with our non-SC teams and their travel needs;
* ensuring as many teams get to see different opposition;
* trying to accommodate team's opponents in respect to previous Palmetto Cup appearances;
* making it as balanced as possible for "even" possibilities to qualify for the Championship;
* etc.;

Bishop England - Knox West-TN, Norman North-OK, Cardinal Newman, Christ Church
Brookland-Cayce - Lexington, Wando, Knox West-TN, Cardinal Newman
Cardinal Newman - Fort Mill, Northwestern, Bishop England, Brookland-Cayce
Christ Church - Northwestern, Fort Mill, Lexington, Bishop England
Fort Mill - Cardinal Newman, Christ Church, Norman North-OK, Wando
Knox West-TN - Bishop England, Lexington, Brookland-Cayce, Norman North-OK
Lexington - Brookland-Cayce, Knox West-TN, Christ Church, Northwestern
Norman North-OK - Wando, Bishop England, Fort Mill, Knox West-TN
Northwestern - Christ Church, Cardinal Newman, Wando, Lexington
Wando - Norman North-OK, Brookland-Cayce, Northwestern, Fort Mill

In short, we feel like this year's four-day slate reflects those efforts. Hope to see you at The Cage!

Knox West HS (TN) has withdrawn from the Palmetto Cup. We are looking for one team to replace them ASAP. If you are interested/available, please contact coach Kevin Heise at kheise@lex2.org.
