Hey Dave
Actually Jacob Parton was in the net for Lexington yesterday.

Thanks, and, maybe so, but Cody Cook was indicated as the starting goalkeeper for Lexington as submitted on the team sheet to the Press Box.

Lexington hammers home a drop by the keeper.
Doesn't sound like an off-sides call to me. Explain further.

We were given none. We just saw a play transpire and an AR put the flag up very near the end line. Then we saw how livid Will Gettys appeared at the call. Our text commentary would have been more clear had there been an explanation.

why can't a player be offside on a ball dropped by the keeper. If he was in an offside position when the ball was struck, he will still be offside when the ball comes off the keeper. No?

That would be a correct statement GSDad. Unless the keeper controlled it and played it down to his feet.

Twenty minutes played, 0:0. The NHL Playoffs are in full swing, and Wando skipper Shilo Tisdale makes a line change. Overheard from outside the press box was the comment: "Wow! They sub 10 men in and the subs are still bigger than the Bearcats." It's six shots to one for the visitors from Mt. Pleasant.

GOAL!!! Brookland-Cayce 0:1 Wando (29')

Penalty given! A Bearcat defender takes a stab at a ball being played down the left edge inside the area and gets not the ball, but freshman Jeff Owens. Referee Barry Lee points to the spot, B-C netminder Grant Strickland guesses left, and Owens nails it to the right. One half hour played, and the Warriors lead 1-0.
