Even with their forfeit in the first match, wouldn't Norman North have been in the finals agains Wando if their state association allowed a fourth game?

Here we are 5 minutes to game time, the championship match of the 2012 Palmetto Cup at Brookland-Cayce High School. Wando versus Irmo. Nd as expected Irmo has brought a large following.

We will have Irmo wearing all black with Wando in the white-black-white kit. While it is only 80degrees out, that sun is potent right now.

After the playing of the national anthem and the coin toss, we will see Irmo attacking the west end of The Cage into that sun.

The players have taken the field and we are off!

And quickly Irmo mounts an attack, builds from midfield and a ball laid off at the top of the box and hit to goal is put wide by the keeper, giving Irmo the corner.

Ten minutes played and a back and forth match, with Irmo having the slight edge.

Irmo and Norman North were tied on 27 points based on the outcome of play as has transpired this week. The first tiebreaker is head-to-head competition, and the nod would have gone to the Timberwolves. Christ Church, had it not been predetermined that they would not compete due to prom tonight, were on 28 points. Had their prom been another night, the title match would have been Wando vs. Christ Church.

20 minutes in and Wando makes the usual line change. Still scoreless with Irmo still getting the better opportunities and leading on shots 2-0.

And we have hit 30 minutes with more of the same, 3 shots to 1 in favor of Irmo with Irmo having a couple of corners and a handful of deep throws. The Yellow Jackets are definitely taking it straight to the Warriors.

Wow and here just seconds before the end of the first half, Wando hits a beautiful strike that soars just above the crossbar!

So that's the half, no score! Back to action in 10 minutes with Wando driving into the sun for the second half.
