[quote I don't agree that most keepers would say they deflected a shot off frame that they didn't. Either I have too much trust or you have too little.

Not questioning the integerity of the young man in goal, just saying that most high caliber players will think the move they made was good, or gonna work becaus they are totally focused on the effort with the mind set that they can make it happen. See it all the time with offsides where the play swears they were on but the fans in the stands can clearly see otherwise.

Besides upside down looking over your back is not always the best perspective to judge a shot, which is how he must of seen it after that great leap he made just to get a hand on it!

That picture isn't funny because Savitz has enough rings for not only both hands, but a couple of toes too

Agreed. How and why is he being targeted? He should be held in high regards. Coach Savitz has shown nothing but class towards the Wando program and I would imagine for every program he goes up against. Whether he is on the winning end or not he is a class act. Congratulations coach on your career so far and I look forward to every battle our two programs have against each other.

A special thanks also to the Brookland Cayce program for once again putting together an excellent pre playoff tournament.

Got to agree with Coach Tisdale here.

Coach Savitz is held in the highest regard by his opposing coaches.

My first ever game as a head coach was in the 2006 LMC. Coach Savitz met me off the bus, hugged me, told me congratulations and said if i needed him for anything he was at the end of the phone. This man, who is a legend in prep soccer had made me feel that wed known each other for years and as a young coach (not so much young any more) at the time, the guy just bowled me over. He is a first class coach, leader, mentor and man.

Ever since that day, I have considered Coach Savitz a friend, and I can bet that I am not the first person or will be the last person whom he has had that effect on.

Again, Thanks to Kevin, Kyle, Dave, Katie and the rest of the team at BC for a first class tournament. Also Congratulations to Coach Tisdale and his Wando Warriors for a worthy victory, I doubt there is a better team in the country playing HS soccer.

ps if anybody has a picture of my 1 sub vs his 10 subbing in, please let me have a copy!

Cheers
Dom

Shilo and Dom...Thank you so much for those kind words!! It means a great deal to me coming from two people I truly respect!! You guys are 1st class, as are your programs, and I have so enjoyed all the great games we have been involved in over the years and look forward to all the future battles as well. I really wish people would use the message board to share ideas and give and receive information as it is intended and leave the team, coach and player bashing out. Most of the time the people who make character assassination type statements don't really even know the person or the circumstances they speak about and are just trying to stir up controversy. Anyway, thanks again and all the best moving forward!

In the end, a high school coach's "product" is not so much the wins, or the championships -- both easily measured by even the narrowest of thinkers -- but the positive impact and example he or she sets for a community, a school, a sport, a team, and ultimately the young people he or she coaches.
I suspect that, if you asked any one of the coaches who post here, they'd tell you that their best coaching doesn't yield championships, but rather, champions.

An amazing list of talent for the all-tournament team! Our state should be proud of our all-tournament selections. Perhaps Fort Mill senior standouts Kevin Fielden and Walker Johnson were worthy of inclusion as well?

Where does it say the all tournament team? I saw the short list. But who were the 4 players from Wando, 2 players from NN and Irmo, etc.
