In 2010 the Charleston Select Shootout featured 86 teams for the Women's weekend and 92 teams for the Men's weekend.

Previous results and team list can be found online at www.scunitedmountpleasant.com

This year promises to be a great event with the addition of our new soccer complex at Carolina Park. SCU/MP will be using CW-Flowers @ Patriots Point, Park West and Carolina Park as game sites.

I think you can say most host clubs bracket their teams to show well. In the years I've been going to Charlotte area tournaments, I'm amazed at how many 8am games we've played and the Charlotte area teams don't play until 10 or 11. Not complaining, just saying this kind of thing happens at many clubs.

I personally think 8 am games are a terrible idea. I very rarely see kids play well at that time. Why not start the games later? Have we forgotten that kids still think it's pretty cool to play under the lights? Let's face it, parents know that tourney weekends are soccer weekends. Just start the games at 10 am and have the last one start at 7 pm. On Sunday just start the consolation games early and play the meaningful ones at 10 or later.
