I'm guessing that 16 game @ 11:30 pm is a misprint? Unless it's some kind of midnight madness.......

Does anyone really care other than the parents and players on the team? What if the team mom from every club team started a new thread and a press release every time they had a weekend game or two? Give it a break.

Yes, there are those that care. Especially parents who are considering having their kids tryout for the Academy in a year or two.
What better way is there to check out the level of play other than going to see a game or two when the academy is playing in town?
There is only one USSDA Academy in South Carolina which makes it a unique opportunity for those aspiring to play soccer at the academy level. This is really quite different from just playing on a regular club team.

GSDad: You mean as opposed to all the other stuff posted here? Seems a perfectly good venue for it.

What if every curmudgeon representing every group who didn't particularly care posted an unnecessary negative comment to every thread started by every representative from every club who wanted to post something positive about their teams? Would the thousand monkeys with their thousand typewriters fit on the head of a pin while producing the combined works of Shakespeare and asking rhetorical questions?

Give it a rest.

curmudgeon[ker-muhj-uhn]
Noun:

a bad-tempered, difficult, cantankerous person.

Origin:
1570–80; unexplained; perhaps cur- representing cur

Related forms
cur·mudg·eon·ly, adjective

Synonyms
grouch, crank, bear, sourpuss, crosspatch.

You've been around long enough to know that this is just curmudgeon pre-season. Wait until HS soccer starts...that's when the curmudgeoning actually means something.

While this is probably superfluous (since no one cares but the players and parents, and they already know):

16's won 4-0 against Richmond Kickers and 6-1 against Virginia Rush.
18's won 5-0 and 7-1.

I dunno...club curmudgeoning is different from HS curmudgeoning, but highly entertaining in its own right! Here's to another great season of curmudgeon-watching on the boards!

Those wins mean something on a regional and possibly national scene. Sad that soccer fans aren't realizing this. Only when soccer is played on american football fields do the boards light up
