Shades Valley High School from Birmingham, Alabama will play a couple of matches in the lowcountry this weekend. On Friday at 7:00pm they will play at Pinewood Prep and then at Bishop England at 2:00pm Saturday.

Shades Valley is 11-2-2 on the season and is ranked #3 in the Alabama AAAAAA (6A) classification.

6A? is it a different ranking system or is just a huge school?

Not sure...they have 1A through 5A all ranked together and then 6A with their own ranking. Can't find much info on the school on the web.

I know Alabama isn't a soccer hotbed but I have to believe they will be very strong.

The largest school in Alabama is around 1600
and Shades Valley was listed at 842 so they are about the size of Emerald.

wow, never would have guess that number about the schools...makes you realize how big some schools are. like Summerville for instance has over 3200
