College of Charleston Soccer ‘Stands Against Bullying’

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men’s soccer team is hosting a “Stand Against Bullying Day” when the team plays Dayton in the closing match of the Nike / Aaron Olitsky Memorial Classic on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 2:30 p.m. at Patriots Point.

Leading up to the match, head coach Ralph Lundy and members of the soccer team will travel to area middle schools and discuss the dangers of this important issue which young students have to deal with every day. The men’s soccer team, along with other CofC programs, looks to unite the youngsters at their match to stand against bullying.

Then, during Sunday’s match, all the participating schools will be in attendance and be honored at halftime. The school which gets the largest percentage of its students to attend the match will be declared the winner and receive a College of Charleston athletics skills clinic to be put on at their school.

The participating schools are Cario Middle School, Laing Middle School and Moultrie Middle School.

The Cougars open the Nike / Aaron Olitsky Memorial Classic with their home opener for the season against Stanford on Friday, Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. and conclude with the afore-mentioned Dayton game on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 2:30 p.m.
