Jason Hamil of Academic Magnet received the South Region Small School Coach of the Year honors at the 2013 NSCAA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., and his father was there to witness this event. Congratulations Jason and the Hamil Family!

What is the criteria for the HS Scholar awards? Does the players coach have to put them in for it or are they nominated by others? I personally know of several elite level players who have maintained 5.0+ GPAs throughout high school but are nowhere on these lists
