Nominations for the 2012 NSCAA Awards are now being accepted. Please review the process for selecting players for these prestigious honors. In order to participate in the nomination and voting process, you must be both a NSCAA and SCACA/SCHSSCA member. Please submit names for nominations to kheise@sc.rr.com by Thursday, November 1st. The categories to be considered are as follows:

NSCAA Process #1 - South Carolina Process
All NSCAA members that serve as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach from the state are contacted and allowed to nominate players/coaches. Once nominations are closed, all NSCAA members are allowed to rank the players. The ballots are then tabulated using a predetermined system (e.g. most points win, throw out one high score and one low score, then add up the points). The calculating needs to be checked and all ballots saved. A committee chairperson and an assistant, who is listed with the NSCAA should do this.
Amendment: South Carolina ranks the players/coaches 1-2-3-etc. with #1 recognizing the top selection. One high score and one low score will be omitted per the process rules.

All high school awards are based on individual membership. Therefore, the coach of any member institution must be an NSCAA member in order for either the coach or the school to be recognized.

To clarify (from the NSCAA website):

What is the criteria for the HS Scholar awards? Does the players coach have to put them in for it or are they nominated by others? I personally know of several elite level players who have maintained 5.0+ GPAs throughout high school but are nowhere on these lists
