Hilton Head Island HS will host the Beaufort Cup Feb 22-24, 2013. The tournament is for boys’ varsity teams from Beaufort County, SC and will determine the unofficial Beaufort County Championship. This tournament was last done in the mid ‘80s and is long overdue for a resurrection. Participating teams are:
Battery Creek HS (12-3)
Beaufort Academy (5-7-2)
Beaufort HS (7-7)
Bluffton HS (7-14)
Hilton Head Island HS (17-4)
Whale Branch HS (NA)
All of the public and private schools in Beaufort County were invited.
There will be 2 matches within group play for each team and a 3rd match for each that will put each team against the team from the other bracket that has finished in the same position (1 v 1 Championship Game, 2 v 2, 3 v 3).

Nice. I always wondered why the local teams down here didn't do something like this. Didn't know they did this in the 80s. Should be fun & a good means of getting ready for the season for all these teams

BEAUFORT CUP SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS
We appreciate the patience and flexibility of coaches, players and fans! In an effort to get the matches in without further damaging the field we are adjusting the schedule. The only matches we will try to get in today will be BA v BC at 11:00 and BL v BH at 1:00. We then have a cushion to adjust times of those two matches later in the day or evening, WHICH MAY VERY WELL HAPPEN.
BC v WB and BH v HH will be moved to tomorrow, a day that looks to be much better weather-wise, at times TBD.
There will only be one 3rd match, the one that determines the winner of The Beaufort Cup, time TBD.

Due to poor playing conditions, today’s Beaufort Cup matches have been postponed. Every effort will be made to devise a suitable schedule for tomorrow. Check back here for updates later today. Thanks for your patience as we try to do what is prudent.

SUNDAY SCHEDULE:After much consideration and an incredible amount of patience and flexibility between coaches, the remainder of The Beaufort Cup tournament schedule has been hammered-out (albeit in pencil). Due to travel restrictions BC and BH have swapped brackets. BA and BH have graciously offered to host matches. Kudos to Coach Aldred and to Coach Dalton.

Sunday:

1:00 BH at BA at Merritt Field, BA

1:00 BL v BC at Sonny Graham Field, HH

3:30 BA v BH at Eagle Stadium, BHS

3:30 HH v BC at Sonny Graham Field, HH

Teams are restricted to no more than 2 matches per day. Therefore, the final will be played next week as determined by the two participating teams and hosted by HHIHS. The final will be the only 3rd game.
