For Referees and High School League Officials

As it has been explained to me, the use of profanity during a game may warrant a red card.

So, dropping an F bomb can get you disqualified, straight red, but the use of the N word directed at a player on the pitch receives yellow.

Referee heard every word, and made these choices. I would rather not share any more details than this considering the sensitivity of the issue.

Comments?

Maybe a zero tolerance policy should be adopted.

If on the pitch and specifically addressed to a player, straight red in both cases: "Using offensive, insulting or abusive language or gestures"

Right on Import as this is the directives referee's are to follow not only in HS but also in USSF. If it is directed to anyone, player, coach, fan, referee then they must be ejected!!!

just4kicks if profanity is used you are correct it may warrant a ejection.

Was it used in a Michael Richards way or a Dave Chapelle way?

If the referee clearly HEARD the comment and did NOTHING ...
Shame on him.

How would you interpret taunting (both verbally and by physical action)?
Do you see a difference between a verbal slur and a physical action?
Where does a gang hand signal fall?

Coach C...taunting is not acceptable in any form. Verbal or physical would get you kicked out of any game I was doing.

If you are going to argue a point, at least get factual information to back up your side.....
