Cayce, SC (WLTX) --- The Brookland-Cayce soccer team captured another region title Tuesday night in part because of the play of senior Scottie Newman who is anchoring a defense that allows less than one goal per match.

Scottie is a three-year starter and a co-captain of a program that traditionally is one of the better 3A programs in the state. In the classroom, Scottie maintains a 4.3 grade point average while taking AP and Honors courses.

Afrter graduating from Brookland-Cayce, Newman will attend Midlands Tech and major in mechanical engineering.
