BHP: 3
AC Flora: 1

Four OT's (0-0) and then PK's

Two missed goals by Flora and one blocked shot by BHP (goalie came off line by over two feet and ref didn't call it.)

Fantastic, nail-biter of a game!!!!

BHP - AC Flora score?

Sounds on Twitter as if BHP won @ AC Flora in PK's. Have not seen a score posted anywhere.

Well, there you go; as I was typing...

My hats off to Chapin. They are a very well coached team. It was a clinic. The game showed my guys how soccer should be played. I am glad we got the chance to see it, it helps for next year and how hard we need to work at the game.

@ Northwestern - OT
Riverside - 1
Northwestern - 2

Great game by both teams. Congrats to Northwestern on a great game and good luck the rest of the way. Coaches and players are first class.

Mauldin lost a heartbreaker to Irmo. 0-0 at FT and through two 10 minute overtime periods and two 5 minute Golden Goal periods. Irmo had the lion share of attempts on goal with Mauldin's keeper saving close to 10, maybe more. In PK shootout, Mauldin Junior keeper Tyler Melson saved two Irmo attempts, while Mauldin missed three of their attempts. The Irmo keepers saved one. All in all, a very exciting game.

Wando didn't choke. Simply stated, they were overrated all season long by people who neither saw their games nor knew their team. I include the person/people responsible for the asinine "national rankings" that so many (including dopey H.S. kids and their parents) foolishly believe.
In the end, they lacked consistent goal-scoring, but soldiered on until the inevitable happened.
In retrospect, you can trace SOME of this to last year's shortfall. History didn't EXACTLY repeat itself, but last year certainly set the stage for last night's result.

One more thing: Full grades to Dutch Fork. Winning second-round playoff games? Seldom easy. Winning a road playoff game? Tougher still. Winning a road playoff game vs. an undefeated opponent? That takes heart and belief.

That was a heck of a game of soccer last night, Riverside brought it and are a credit to themselves, coaches, parents and school.

Cheers
