Byrnes names Hilderbrand boys soccer coach

Byrnes has hired Paul Hilderbrand as its new boys soccer coach.
Hilderbrand replaces Matt Brophy, who accepted the same position at Irmo in May.
Hilderbrand led Brookland-Cayce to state runner-up finishes as a player in 2001 and ’02. He went on to play at Anderson University from 2002-05.
Hilderbrand was formerly the varsity head coach at Battery Creek in 2007 before moving on to become the junior varsity coach at Westside the following year. He became the Rams’ varsity head coach in 2009 until 2012.
