MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The College of Charleston men’s soccer team fell, 1-0, at Delaware in Colonial Athletic Association action on Sunday afternoon.

CofC (2-9, 0-3 CAA) was outshot, 15-4, in the contest. Delaware’s goal came in the 56th minute when Guillermo Delgado collected a ball after a deflection in the box and connected for his 10th goal of the season.

“We started the game well in the first half,” said head coach Ralph Lundy. “We battled hard, while creating two clear cut chances that we didn't capitalize on. In the second half, Delaware had more possession and we struggled to keep the ball when we won it from them. As a result, we defended more in our half and they eventually made us pay.”

Four different Cougars combined for the shot attempts on CofC’s side. Alex Young (Greenville, S.C.) played the entirety in goal and made seven saves.

The Cougars return to action with another CAA match on Saturday, Oct. 19 against Hofstra at Patriots Point.
