What is the penalty for teams that violate the SCHSL rules for number of games played? Are they disqualified from the playoffs?

G. Soccer teams are allowed 16 regular season games and two tournaments or 18 regular season games and one tournament. Varsity teams are allowed two tournaments, four scrimmages and one jamboree. JV teams are allowed 14 games, two tournaments, two scrimmages and one jamboree. One tournament may be pre-season and start on March 1.

17. A tournament is a series of contests in competition for a championship in which at least 1st & 2nd place is decided by a final contest between the two teams. Schools must now submit tournament format i.e., brackets for approval as part of the sanctioning process in basketball, baseball, softball, tennis and soccer. (Maximum 10 consecutive days for a tournament)

 Maximum of 10 games can be played in a combination of the two tournaments
 If you choose to play more than five games in any one tournament this will constitute having played a second tournament

I am wanting to say it would be exclusion from play-offs.

Inquiring minds want to know! For the record, I think this is awfully trivial for this particular individual!

lvpul must be trying to get some team out of his kid's teams run a state championship on a technicality v. on the pitch. therefor it wouldn't be a lower ranked team. look at the top 5 in each division for the accused, and those ranked just behind for the victim crying foul...

This seems pretty cut and dried, no matter who is complaining. Playing too many matches is wrong no matter whose ox is gored, and no matter who observes/reports the infraction.

Agreed. Either give out more details, report the team, or let it go.
